Vicksburg Advanced Power Station
Reliable, modern power generation for Mississippi’s expanding economy
Entergy Mississippi will build its second new natural gas power station in 50 years, replacing legacy generation in Vicksburg. The Vicksburg Advanced Power Station will ensure that customers continue to have modern, reliable energy well into the future. The 754-megawatt facility will be an advanced combined-cycle combustion turbine power station – the second the company has built in Mississippi from the ground up, after Delta Blues Advanced Power Station now being built in Washington County.
Vicksburg Advanced Power Station will be located at the former site of the company’s Baxter Wilson Power Plant in Vicksburg, Mississippi in Warren County. The previous plant was retired in 2022 and is being demolished.
Construction on the $1.2 billion project is expected to be complete by August 2028.
